In 1997, Mrs. Yin-Bi Hsu established the H. L. Hsu Social Welfare Foundation to honor the legacy of founder Mr. H. L. Hsu and to further promote public welfare and charitable activities. This initiative ensures the continuation of Fortune Electric’s spirit, allowing the company not only to provide high-quality products but also to give back to society, fostering a sustainable and compassionate environment.
The foundation is dedicated to social care and emergency relief, collaborating with external foundations to carry out public welfare initiatives. In addition to organizing various charitable activities and providing scholarships for underprivileged students, the foundation also supports social education by periodically donating magazines and publications. Employees are encouraged to participate in these social care initiatives.
To amplify the impact of charitable giving, Fortune Electric organizes a “Matching Donation” program, where the company matches employee donations, doubling the support for those in need. The foundation allocates an annual budget of approximately NT$300,000 to NT$400,000 to support these initiatives.
In 2023, the foundation awarded one scholarship of NT$20,000. To date, a total of 95 students have benefited from this program.

Fortune Electric Volunteer Committee
Fortune Electric established the Volunteer Committee with the mission of "Serving to Achieve Personal Growth; Creating a Healthier Society with Love; Serving the Community with Patience; Beautifying Towns with Enthusiasm." The committee focuses on supporting vulnerable groups in the Taoyuan area. At the end of each year, the committee holds a meeting to plan activities and projects for the upcoming year, with funding provided by the H. L. Hsu Social Welfare Foundation after evaluation. Occasionally, the committee collaborates with vendors to co-host events. To ensure the funds are effectively utilized, interviews are conducted and needs assessments are carried out before organizing comprehensive plans, aiming to expand social welfare and fulfill corporate social responsibility.

Annual Highlight Charity Events
Addressing Osteogenesis Imperfecta Patients, Supporting Rare Disease Care Activities
Osteoporosis is a rare genetic disease that causes a decrease in bone strength and fragility, making bones prone to fractures. Its prevalence is approximately 1 in 20,000 to 30,000 people. Since 2003, the Fortune Electric Founder Xu Xianliang Social Welfare Foundation has been committed to supporting the "Osteogenesis Imperfecta Association (Glass Doll Association)" and caring for osteoporosis patients.
In 2023, Fortune Electric supported the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Association and the Taishin Bank Charity Foundation to co-host the "Your Vote Determines the Power of Love" event. The goal was to become one of the top 12 units in the vote ranking, in order to receive a sponsorship grant from the Taishin Bank Charity Foundation to execute the program (Association applied for a 500,000 NTD group). This initiative aims to help more patients. We hope to spread the word through the internet, encourage people to support the association, and actively participate in the voting process, enabling greater awareness and resource support for osteogenesis imperfecta in Taiwan.
Participating in Street Cleaning Volunteer Activities, Creating Sustainable Communities
With the global trend toward sustainable development, corporate social responsibility is becoming increasingly important. As a socially responsible company, Fortune Electric has actively participated in social welfare activities and is committed to promoting sustainable rural and urban development. The Volunteer Committee participated in a street cleaning volunteer activity in Guanyin District, Taoyuan City. This event emphasized the importance of teamwork and aimed to create a better living environment for the community. Through this volunteer activity, employees deeply appreciated the value of volunteer service, realizing that even seemingly insignificant assistance has a positive impact on improving the community and enhancing residents' quality of life.
Despite the wind and rain, Fortune Electric employees worked together to clear fallen leaves and garbage, cleaning small, often overlooked dirty corners. The local residents also came out to show their support and wave hello. After the employees' hard work, the streets were revitalized, and the residents were all smiling. Through the efforts of the Volunteer Committee, we hope to integrate sustainable development concepts into the company's daily operations, encourage more employees to participate in volunteer services, and work together to make the community a better place, contributing more to society and reflecting Fortune Electric's commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Sponsor the Zhenji Xiang Social Service Association to Promote Community Well-being
Fortune Electric actively participates in social welfare initiatives. The Volunteer Committee has long sponsored the Zhenji Xiang Social Service Association in Taipei City. In 2023, Fortune Electric continued to support the operation of the association through donations of materials and funding to ensure that it can provide necessary resources and support. Since 2001, the association has held communal meals for the elderly every year, offering delicious food and creating opportunities for social interaction, which has a positive impact on the physical and mental health of the elderly and improves their quality of life.
In addition, the Zhenji Xiang Social Service Association also operates a food bank, providing low-income households in the Zhongqin community with stored food and monthly points to exchange for groceries (e.g., canned food, milk powder, rice, biscuits, etc.). They also provide tutoring classes for children and coffee classes, offering learning opportunities for children while conducting regular home visits to care for every person in need in the community. These efforts demonstrate Fortune Electric’s commitment to social responsibility, aiming to eliminate hunger, provide quality education, and make positive contributions to achieving sustainable development goals.
Engage in the Genesis Foundation Charity Sale, Planting a Better Future
Fortune Electric Volunteer Committee, adhering to the core values of humanitarianism and respect for life, collaborates with charitable organizations to fulfill corporate social responsibilities with the spirit of making a big difference through small efforts. We have long collaborated with the Genesis Foundation and are deeply concerned about the condition of the residents in the Genesis Nursing Home, where 27% of the residents are in a vegetative state due to traffic accidents. The aftermath of such accidents is a lifelong regret for their families, making it difficult for many families to reunite. In 2023, Fortune Electric Volunteer Committee continued to assist the Genesis Foundation in two stages at the Zhongli headquarters and Fortune Electric Technology by promoting the purchase of charitable sale items, hoping to receive support from the public and raise funds for long-term care costs for vegetative patients.
During the charity sale, volunteers felt the warmth of human connection as they and their families walked around selling popcorn and coffee gift boxes. They attracted the attention of many people, and the public stopped to inquire and purchase items. Some even donated cash directly to support the cause, and others bought drinks to show appreciation for the volunteers' hard work. In addition, the event included a bonus activity for invoice donation, encouraging everyone to donate their receipts, creating more opportunities to support the cause and help vegetative patients.
"Love for the Elderly, Love for Reunion" - Donation of New Year's Dishes, Spreading Care and Hope
As the global pandemic gradually subsides and borders are reopening, people's lives are slowly returning to normal. In this joyful festive atmosphere, the Fortune Electric volunteer committee continues to uphold the spirit of "Love for the Elderly, Love for Reunion" and collaborates with the Huashan Foundation to bring warmth and care to the elderly who are in need.
In the past two years, due to the impact of the pandemic, the volunteer committee could not personally participate in the New Year's dish donation activities, but the love from the staff remained unchanged. They entrusted the volunteers from the Huashan Foundation to deliver the New Year's dishes to every elderly person. In 2023, with the easing of the pandemic, the committee members were finally able to participate in this heartwarming action in person, delivering the dishes directly to the elderly, bringing them the joy and cheer of the Spring Festival.
Watching the elderly display joyful smiles upon the committee members' arrival, the volunteers felt an immense sense of fulfillment. We believe that the 700 TWD for the New Year's dish is not just a sum of money, but it brings warmth and happiness to the elderly. However, the care and love between people in this society will not disappear due to any difficulty. We believe that as long as we continue to give, we can make society warmer and better, contributing to a sustainable society vision.
Supporting Little Grass Bookhouse to Accompany Children and Adolescents, Planting the Seeds of Education for the Underprivileged
Fortune Electric takes concrete actions to support local education by dedicating resources to children who are in greater need. We aim to build a more complete learning and development environment for them. In 2023, Fortune’s volunteer committee expanded its donations and added the "Little Grass Bookhouse," which is affiliated with the Taiwan Urban and Rural Sustainable Care Association.
Fortune Electric joined hands with the Mr. H. L. Hsu Foundation, a nonprofit organization in Taipei, to support the Little Grass Bookhouse. This support allows the bookhouse to continue providing timely companionship and guidance for learning, as well as sufficient funding. The children can feel loved and explore the positive power and sunshine in their lives. We hope that by accompanying these children, we can give them the necessary assistance to create dreams together and empower them to change their futures. Just like little grass, as long as it is nurtured with dreams, it will one day blossom and become a beautiful sight in the city.

Introduction to Little Grass Bookhouse: The Little Grass Bookhouse serves children from high-needs families in the local elementary schools of Sanxia and Daxi. These children often lack good family interaction and an educational environment due to family problems such as domestic violence, parental substance abuse, low income, single-parent families, and grandparental guardianship. These issues adversely affect their physical, mental, and emotional development.
The Little Grass Bookhouse offers after-school homework tutoring, shared meals, and a variety of learning programs through a referral system. For children with poor academic performance, the bookhouse also provides vocational exploration courses led by local professionals, allowing them to discover their talents, develop self-care skills, and, hopefully, one day give back to society, helping others in need. This kind of support not only reduces the risk of these children becoming lost or straying off the right path but also helps to reduce the potential for future criminal activities.
Joining Hands with the Food Bank to Assist Underprivileged Families, Achieving Educational Equality and Opportunities
Fortune Electric, in collaboration with the Shanxing Food Bank, is working towards the goal of "Taiwan without Hunger," responding to the SDGs goal of eliminating hunger. Through continuous charitable donations, we hope not only to support the efforts of the food bank but also to help more children attend school with peace of mind, realizing educational equality, and creating a positive cycle of love and kindness in society.
The Shanxing Food Bank was established by relevant nonprofit organizations in the Dongxing Junior High School in Zhongli District, Taoyuan City, with the aim of providing three meals a day for children from underprivileged families, allowing them to study with peace of mind. After understanding the operational model and management of the food bank, the volunteer committee recognized the need for supplies and thus donated a batch of materials. We hope that these supplies can genuinely assist the children in need, ensuring they can attend school with peace of mind and grow up happily.
Joining Hands with the Lianxin Foundation to End Sexual Violence and Create Gender Justice
Fortune Electric has long been concerned with gender equality. Through donations and advocacy, we are committed to shaping a society with diverse values and creating a supportive and friendly environment to assist gender-based violence victims in starting a new life. The Volunteer Committee actively responds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5 by joining forces with the H. L. Hsu Foundation to donate to the Lianxin Foundation, working towards ending gender violence and achieving gender equality.
The Lianxin Foundation serves approximately 25,000 people annually and has accumulated over 310,000 service visits. The foundation provides comprehensive support to victims of sexual/gender-based violence, including intimate partner violence, sexual assault and harassment prevention, child and adolescent accompaniment, and multi-discriminatory gender violence prevention services, all tailored to meet the diverse needs of those seeking help. We hope to end gender-based violence, achieve gender equality, and contribute to societal reform for gender justice, assisting affected women and children in navigating a new life.
Participating in Organic Farm Maintenance Activities to Create a Green Home
22 members of the Fortune Volunteer Committee, along with the children, organized an agricultural maintenance activity at the Xiaonanwan Organic Farm. The goal was to ensure that the vegetables and fruits supplied to the orphanage were safe and reliable, allowing the children to grow up in a safe and healthy environment.
After changing into appropriate gear and listening to the farm owner's planting instructions, we divided into two groups and focused on our key task for the day – vegetable planting. We planted bok choy and Chinese cabbage, carefully transferring the young seedlings, which were about two weeks old, into the soil. Despite occasionally needing to stand up and stretch due to discomfort from crouching for extended periods, everyone worked diligently and completed the planned tasks within an hour and a half.
This activity not only provided the orphanage children with fresh, healthy vegetables, but the care and support also strengthened the community's sense of cohesion. It exemplified our commitment to sustainable development, contributing to creating a greener and healthier environment for future generations.
Industry-Academia Collaboration – Cultivating Soft Skills in Youth
Fortune Electric is committed to planning for future human resources. In 2023, the company continued to respond to the Taoyuan City Government's "Taoyuan 'YouTouLu' Youth Workplace Internship Program," encouraging students to participate in internships during the summer. The program aims to strengthen industry-academia relationships, helping young students develop proper work habits and values from their work experiences. This ensures they are well-prepared for their future careers and enables companies to contribute to sustainable goals for quality education in society.
With the support of Fortune Electric, the program successfully trained 8 interns from different fields and schools. During the "2023 Youth Workplace Internship and Public Sector Summer Internship Program Results Sharing and Competition," the program awarded the top three and honorable mentions. This initiative not only allowed students from various fields to exchange workplace experiences but also created a win-win situation for the government, schools, businesses, and students.
