Hsu, Chairman of Fortune Electric, has been awarded the prestigious Northeastern University International Contribution Award!Only two individuals received this honor in 2024—one being the founder of an AI startup, and the other being Chairman Pedro B.F. Hsu. This recognition underscores his exceptional leadership in the electric industry and his dedication to innovation, which have gained international recognition.
Chairman Pedro B.F. Hsu studied for his bachelor's degree at Northeastern University in Japan from 1966 to 1968. Later, he achieved remarkable success in the electrical engineering industry, becoming an international leader in Taiwan’s power equipment sector.In 1993, he was awarded the Excellent Merchant Gold Merchant Award, and in 1997, he received the Ministry of Economic Affairs Industry Technology Development Excellence Award and the Magnetic Industry Contribution Award.Under his leadership, Fortune Electric has become a leading company in Taiwan's power equipment industry, with a market value of NT$216.7 billion (approximately JPY 1 trillion) and a 787% total shareholder return.
Chairman Pedro B.F. Hsu has been a driving force behind Fortune Electric's transformation, actively promoting the company’s shift towards green energy systems, digitalization, and smart factory initiatives. His efforts have made significant contributions to environmental protection and sustainable development.Additionally, he is a founding member of the Northeastern University Taiwan Alumni Association, serving as its inaugural president from 2007 to 2024. Under his leadership, the association grew to over 150 members and became an essential bridge between Northeastern University and the Taiwan alumni network. Even after stepping down from the presidency, he continues to support and contribute to alumni activities in both Taiwan and Japan.
